Spoken in Nadia’s own words, the film covers her remarkable life from childhood through her historic Perfect Tens at the Montreal 1976 Olympics. The story reveals her despair in 1980’s Romania, as the country falls into an abyss of debt and poverty, and follows Nadia through her dramatic defection to the US in 1989, just before the fall of Romanian dictators Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu.
